Michael Armand Hammer was born on September 8, 1955, in Los Angeles. He was born as the only child to father Late Julian Armand Hammer and mother Glenna Sue. Michael’s father worked in the oil business and his mother was a native of Texas.

His ancestors are from Ukraine who settled in the US before the Soviet Union collapsed. Michael is the only grandson of Industrialist Late Armand Hammer who died of bone marrow cancer at the age of 92. His grandmother was Russian actress Olga Von Root.

Educational Background

Hammer grew up in a rich family and gained a top education. He attended the University of San Diego and graduated with a Business administration degree in 1978. Later he joined Stern School of Business of Newyork University in 1982. Ultimately graduating with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Married and Divorce

Michael was married to Dru Ann Mobley on January 12, 1985, in an intimate ceremony. The couple tied the knot in the first methodist church in Tulsa. Reports suggest that the couple met during college days at the University of New york. Eventually, after dating for a couple of years, they tied the knot in the presence of families and friends.

Dru is an Oklahoma university graduate and worked for many boards including a non-profit organization named Dream center where she taught Bible and program related to discipleship. Michael’s ex-wife is of strong Christian belief and it is believed Hammer changed his religion from Jewish to Christian because of her wife.

However, things start to fall after 27 years of marriage. Since the couple decided to part their ways after being together for over two decades. However, the reason behind their separation is still a mystery since they didn’t give any statement after the divorce. The ex-couple even shared two children together from their long marriage. As of now the couple is single and living their life in their 60’s.

Father of Two Children

Michael shares two sons with Dru Ann Mobley from his 27-year marriage. The couple welcomed their first child Armand Douglas Hammer on August 28, 1986. He is an American actor famous for his role of Winklevoss twins in David Fincher’s biographical drama The Social Network. He appeared in the movie alongside Brenda SongRashida Jones, and Justin Timberlake. Some of his other films include Hotel Mumbai, On the basis of sex, Wounds, Final portrait to name a few. Michael’s eldest son is married to television personality Elizabeth Chambers.

The former couple welcomed their second child again a son, Viktor Hamme 1988. He is also a businessman and Philanthropist just like his father. Viktor is the founder and owner of Hammer Galleries in Newyork city.

Michael Armand Hammer lives a lavish life with a net worth of $120 million. He inherited this amount from his father. His father owned an Occidental Petroleum company that deals with oil. Furthermore, most of his income comes from numerous businesses such as Hammer Galleries, and Hammer Productions, a television and film production company. Michaels exact earning is yet undisclosed but he could be earning around $20 million per annum from his business.
