Marcus Ray was born on August 14, 1976, in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up with his mother, Pamela Ray, and his grandmother, Mary. Marcus was born when his mother was still in her teens. She was only seventeen years old while she gave birth to Marcus but despite being a mother at an early age, she never disappointed her motherhood. He was born under the sun sign of Leo.

Marcus went to Eastmoor Academy for his high schooling and then went to Michigan University. He played football there and later, became the part of the national championship winning team.

Marcus after setting a record in college football with ten interceptions, he made 229 total tackles with 148 solo stops as a Wolverine. During his college career, Marcus was suspended by NCAA because of his involvement with a sports agent.

After playing his football with Michigan Wolverines Football from 1994-1998, he played for Oakland Raiders in 1999. After a year, he joined an NFL Europe team Scottish Claymores and took them to the world bowl.

Marcus started his coaching career with an assistant coach and defensive coordinator role for high schools in Columbus, Ohio. He did that for three years before in 2004, when he started to coach defensive backs at Ohio Dominican University. Following his coaching career into Central Michigan Chippewas Football team, he returned to Ohio Dominican as an assistant coach.

Marcus wrote a book called Rays of Light, Volume 1 “Let there be light” in 2011. Before that, he was coaching for Mifflin High School in Columbus. Ray is also the CEO and President of TEAM RAYROC LLC and also features on TV talking about Football.

Marcus idolized Eric Turner and after his death in 2000 due to intestinal cancer, which devasted him. His career started to end after his suspension and he couldn’t handle the distraction. Ray then started to suffer from injuries and eventually, his playing days were over.

Marcus after retiring from football got married to his now ex-wife Lynda. Ray has three sons with Lynda, Marcus Jr., Malik, and Marquis.
